Self Care During Stay Home Order

What day is it? The days are blending together and on some days it feels like time is slowly draining by like a 31 hour day. Aside from the 5 Zoom meetings each day between Distance Learning and work meetings we have the time to pamper ourselves a little more. Sometimes if we're lucky our house plants and/or property garden serves in providing ingredients that our body, hair, and nails can really benefit from.

What better time than now to take care of your hair. Nourish it and give it a break if you're like me and use the flat iron a lot. Right now is the best time to give your hair healthy masks that help with your scalp as well as the shaft. Most ingredients are already in your house.

What you'll need

* Aloe Vera leaves

* Coconut Oil

*Green Tea bags

* Half a Lemon

I took two green tea bags and seeped it in 1 cup of boiling water then let it cool. Green tea is beneficial for our scalp and our hair strands because it helps cleanse the scalp and stop flaking and dandruff while stimulating hair growth. Green tea is rich in antioxidants and that helps build strong immunity and healthier hair. Some of the antioxidants in green tea repress dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which is a hormone responsible for hair thinning and hair loss.

I grabbed a few leaves from my Aloe plant and removed the center gel and placed it aside, it made about a cup of gel. Aloe Vera is fantastic for hair and skin. Aloe also aides the scalp in cleaning it and ridding it of flakes and dandruff. It has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe the scalp. Not only will your hair feel softer after using Aloe on it but the high volume of proteins and vitamins in Aloe will help lock in moisture to help keep hair follicles hydrated.

I used half a cup of melted all-natural organic coconut oil and squeezed the juice of half a lemon. I added all the gel and tea to the mixture and blended everything up in a blender.

Apply the mixture all over your scalp and to your hair strands till your hair is saturated in the mixture. Use a shower cap or even plastic wrap to cover hair and let it do its magic for a good 2 hours at least.

This mask makes your hair feel amazing and any leftover solution you have just store in a glass jar and use it again in 3 days!

My girls and I enjoy our weekly hair masks and I have a lot of confidence you will love your hair health too after using this!
